Honda K20A i-VTEC Engine And Gearbox Specifications
A Euro specification K20A2 iVTEC typically produces around
220bhp @ 7950rpm and 210Nm (157ft/lb) torque @ 4750rpm.
With a close-ratio 6-speed gear box, the massive improvements
with this transplant are not confined to the engine alone, but a
combination that will make your Lotus an awesome driving
experience!
The JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) specification K20A's have an
LSD (Limited Slip Differential), a lightened flywheel and closer
gearing in 4th, 5th & 6th than the Euro spec item. K20A iVTEC
typically produces around 225bhp @ 8,000rpm and 216Nm (163ft/lb)
torque @ 4950rpm. |

The weights above were taken straight after conversion, they
are not optimised.
These
weights were done before and after conversion on proper Longacre
corner weighting scales on a level floor
They were both done with a drained fuel tank and excludes soft
top and hardware.
The only difference was changing from the Janspeed Supersport
exhaust to our larger 6" Sports Silencer, which is 1.2 kg
heavier than the Janspeed, but quieter for track days.
So as you can see there is LESS than a 15 kg difference, this
would be negated to almost zero difference if your car has a
completely standard exhaust system as the original equipment
silencer and catalytic converter weigh nearly 10 kg more than
our sports silencer.
Add a lightweight flywheel & our aluminium belled discs and it
will be lighter than the standard Elise. |
